TELL ME 03:48
I remember the day the rain began to fall I remember thinking that hope would save us all Oh, but the sky gets more grey everyday Our lips are still stained red with Kool-Aid Tell me, when did greed become a virtue? When will we get to decide what we have a right to? Feel my resistance Feel my resistance I’ve gotten used to the idea of getting wet I’m not sure yet where that will get me to Oh, but wherever it is, I hope I get there soon A change of view is long overdue Tell me, what good is staying dry? If you never get to see the sky Feel my resistance Feel my resistance Let’s take our fight to the streets We’re all water, that’s why it’s so easy to meet Let’s be a river, the same river Let’s rise from our bed united instead of divided I’ll tell you, the truth knows how to swim Let’s take back what’s ours again Feel my resistance Feel my resistance Feel my resistance Feel my resistance

$$$ 02:50
$$$, makes the world go round $$$, gonna bring the whole world down $$$, gonna drive you straight into the ground Bailout, buyout, cash in, cash out, tell me what's your price Would you sell your soul for worlds of gold? Could you be enticed? As for me, right here with you, I'm doing' alright And I'm broke as shit, cause... $$$, for the government $$$, oh good lord, amen $$$, how much more can we spend? Broke down, drownin', twisted round and Tell me what's the cost Can you afford the wealth of this world? Can't be found once lost As for me, I'll live in my means I've got quite a lot And I'm still broke as shit, cause... $$$, can't buy the way the music hits you $$$, will die when we do $$$, can't buy your love so true The only green for me is the grass and the trees Don't need no currency Oh, money can't buy me.

READY OR NOT 02:13
They say our sins are paid for, so everyone’s going to war Ain’t no shame in killing, when you’re not the ones paying the bills and The purse strings are growing tighter with all that ain’t right in the world But it keeps on turning, ready or not And I’m trying my best, but I must confess It’s not always easy to play the part And I’m looking out my window, but no matter how far I can’t see a break in the clouds, except for where the lightning strikes And I’d take you tonight but I’m begging you baby Please don’t make a sound Cause the thunder’s enough, the noise is getting so loud While the rain comes pouring down And we’ve got one shot at this, one shot tonight One shot to turn this around, oh Cause they’ll take your soul but they don’t tell you bout the fee Didn’t you ever learn, eternity ain’t for free? So I guess I’ll die like the rest of them Broke and debt free

COME QUICK 03:38
Come quick for Mother has been killed Liberty’s soul away so it was willed, oh Hush now says Big Brother, ease your weary soul Hush now, says Big Brother, do exactly as you’re told For Father should you disobey, would surely lose his temper So quickly you may fall from graces As fall painted leaves in September aleft to rot and wither with all the others fallen Sink together down through dirt to be rebirth And together answer Redemption’s calling Redemption’s calling you Hush now says Big Brother, ease your weary soul Hush now, says Big Brother, do exactly as you’re told For Father should you disobey, would surely lose his temper So quickly you may fall from graces As fall painted leaves in September

DON'T STAY 04:17
The sunlight settles in the evening fields Where we stay sometimes when the world is too real I know you don't like to stay up late But I can't find dreams in this sweltering heat Won't you keep me company, while I wait for relief? I need you with me on the other side, baby I can't go knowing you'd be here You know they'll always find us if we stay Oh, and leaving's the only way Yeah, on the other side everything looks different Even me and you, but I still love you like I do and Nobody worries bout a thing Not even time or money or how we're gonna pay the bills Or why everyone is taking pills Oh, what a shame You know I don't like You know I don't like You know I don't like to medicate Or put myself into a passive state Oh, I can't see straight but I won't stay No, no I won't stay One more minute in this place even if they tried to make me Oooh whoa, I will not stay ooh You know I don't like You know I don't like to waste the days away You know I don't want You know I don't want to leave you here this way I need you with me on the other side, oh you know it's true I know I'm young but I know what I want And girl it's you Now we grow a garden by a cabin in the woods And I know you never thought it'd be this good I'm gonna love you like I should, but never could When the world was weighing on me like I used to Whoa, whoa I'm free Free as a bird, flying high up in the sky But how I wish I did not have to leave all these people behind that I love Oh what a shame There ain't no time to waste Ain't no time to hate Oh, there is an escape Don't listen when they try to tell you, you don't have a choice to stay or go You can always leave and You best believe, there's more than what they offer up Tell me do you have enough, is there more that you dream of? Don't stay, whoa don't stay There's more through the door, all you have to do is explore What are you waiting for? Don't stay, whoa Come along, come along, come along this way And don't stay Don't stay, don't stay, don't stay, don't stay, don't stay...

about

This album is a response to the current political climate in America. It is my own attempt at following though on the idea that there is power in voice and in the dollar. It is also a reflection of my own journey through the events that have been unfolding in the last several months; shifting from anger and disbelief, to disappointment and resignation, to hope and resolution.

I am selling this album on a pay what you can basis. All sales will be donated to the Natural Resources Defense Council, a non-profit environmental advocacy group.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!

about

Josie Martin Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

My music exists to me as a source of comfort in the face of life's mysterious unfolding.

It doesn't claim to be an answer, nor is it a home for those who seek to quell the absurdity of wondering about what can never be known.

It is emotion.
It is satire.
It is art.
It is infinite.
It is.
As I wish to be.
